NC100BW Mourns the Passing...
The National Coalition of 100 Black Women mourns the passing of Dr. Dorothy Height.
She was a trailblazer who defined the 20th-century black recent_workwomen's movement by demonstrating the necessity for a comprehensive advocacy effort framed and implemented by Black women for Black women.  As NCBW approaches its 30th anniversary, we remember that our organization and millions of  Black women owe a debt of gratitude to Dr. Height and the National Council of Negro Women for its groundbreaking work spanning decades under her leadership.  The positions many of us hold in the 21st century are directly related to her work on our behalf for the better part of the 20th century.
