Greetings, one and all!

I pray this message finds everyone doing well, and each chapter in overdrive as we all gear up for a productive year.

The national board meeting of Jan 29-30 was substantive and fast-paced!  We met on the historic campus of Tougaloo College, an HBCU, with its 1st female president in its 100 year history; and she (Dr. Beverly Hogan) is a member of the NCBW and a past president of NCBW-Central Mississippi chapter!  And, the Central Mississippi chapter ensured the national leadership was treated royally!

The "action items" from the minutes will be available to our chapter presidents within a week or so, followed by the full text of the minutes in March.  In the meantime, one of the most significant items of discussion (and action) was the confirmation of our committee chairs. The standing committees are defined in our national by-laws, and periodically the organization benefits from one or more ad hoc committees.

With the leadership of our national committees now defined we have an expectation that each chapter president identify at least one national committee or initiative they wish to work with.  An org chart (link to come soon) is a graphic depiction of our committee structure, and I will link the report of our 2nd VP for Programs, Ms. Michele Emery, which provides great detail on our new and exciting  national partnerships. A link to her blog will be available soon as well. Also please find the national calendar as currently constituted.  The calendar will be updated as more events/dates become known to us.  And you will continue to get "breaking NCBW news" from the executive director, leadership, and committee chairs via email AND on tis site.  We also hope you will continue to share info with us.
