Resolution on Health
WHEREAS, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women chapters around the country have identified through researched data that African American women are suffering disproportionately to white women in society owing to a lack of early detection and access to health services; and
WHEREAS, many of the health issues that impact African American women could be addressed and improved with better access to health care services; and
WHEREAS, data collected indicate that an increase in research related to diseases that impact African American women is vital to their survival; and
WHEREAS, NCBW strongly believes that institutions and all systems responsible for research and health-care delivery should strive harder to improve services to African American women.
BE IT RESOLVED, THEREFORE, that the National Coalition of 100 Black Women take action to ensure that African American women have complete access to all health services offered by federal, state and local health systems.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that each NCBW chapter implement this resolution as it is appropriate to the resources of its chapter and the needs of its community.
