MECCA Chapter Receives Award
ATLANTA – January 19, 2010
The MECCA Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. received the 2010 Hosea Williams Award for Community Activism from Georgia State University for its contributions to the community and the promotion of human rights.
Through the years, the MECCA chapter has been committed to addressing the needs of African American women and girls through mentoring, advocacy, and leadership development. The chapter also established a humanitarian partnership with the Ashanti Village of Assisiwira in Ghana, West Africa by bringing electrical service to the village.
