When and how will gifts be distributed?

It will take approximately 30 days to traverse from Baltimore to Monrovia.  Upon its arrival, NGO representatives from the Ministry of Education and RTTI will ensure our gifts are claimed immediately and properly distributed.

Who and how many people stand to benefit from the donated gifts?

Donated items will be given to administrators, teacher-trainers and trainees, and to active, indigenous, struggling community-based groups that help women make and grow products to sell in the market as a means to support their families and to send their children to school.
The impact of “DAFI” is immeasurable.

How will the gifts arrive to Liberia?

On October 12, 2010, a 20’ container of “Wish” list items will set sail from the Port of Baltimore – this is attainable because of a generous grant awarded to NC100BW from Firestone - Natural Rubber Company.  The container will be placed on a freight bound for Monrovia, Liberia.

How do I or my network participate in “DAFI”?

The “DAFI” is an opportunity to galvanize America, regardless of your race, gender or religious beliefs – if you give to empower, you are a friend.
To that end, we welcome gifts (i.e. monetary and “wish” list items) from Friends of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, NC100BW Chapters and members, and their networks!  We would be happy to partner with other non-profit organizations, churches, companies, etc.
As a NC100BW member, please work through your chapter’s leadership, as a “Friend” of the NC100BW and potential partner, please contact IAC Co-Chairs, Cynthia Williams and Natatia Griffith directly at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
